This Case Epilogue written February 1, 2017 is intended to provide context to this web site as it documents a Canadian constitutional challenge spanning from 2004 to 2016. Bruce Montague determined to expose the constitutional violations in the Canadian Firearms Act. After being charged, mounting a constitutional challenge and appealing to the Supreme Court of Canada, Montague's case was dismissed without reasons. With Bruce in jail, the Montagues then faced an another twist of injustice -- the confiscation of their home and property by the Ontario government. The Montagues fought the civil forfeiture of their home for years until, in the summer of 2016, the Canadian Constitution Foundation was instrumental in negotiating with the Ontario Civil Forfeiture department to drop the lien against the Montague home. The Canadian Constitution Foundation deserves our support as they continue to fight other cases of injustice around the country. YOU COULD BE NEXT! Canada is undergoing a quiet revolution and your fundamental rights and freedoms are at stake!

Feb 14, 2005 - Alberta Rallies Report

Road Tour Reports Index

February 14, 2005, by Jim Turnbull

I attended three rallies with Bruce. First, he spoke to the councilors of Westlock County and delivered a well-researched, factual account of the liberties that the Federal government has taken with your rights and mine. Bruce went on to describe the despicable means the government used to try to ruin his livelihood, removing the earning power of this well respected member of the Dryden community.

Second, we traveled to Rocky Mountain House and met with many of our past supporters. These people put on a great rally, which was well attended by over 60 enthusiastic firearms advocates. Here Bruce was given a standing ovation and there were several cheques in excess of $100.

Third, we held a rally in the Legion Hall in Westlock. There were more than 40 people present and again Bruce delivered a speech that moved the people present to boost the fund in a true western manner. In fact we were honored with a cheque for $1,000. The DVD was well recieved and we were pleased that Oscar LaCombe joined the crowd and registered his support to the cause.

Any firearms advocate would be well advised to set up a rally in his or her area and get on with the job of lending support to this worthy cause. All can be assured that any needed assistance from me will be forthcoming. Three weeks lead-time and a sponsor willing to do the foot work is required.

Happy Valentines to all,

Jim Turnbull mailto:absadolj@telus.net
