This Case Epilogue written February 1, 2017 is intended to provide context to this web site as it documents a Canadian constitutional challenge spanning from 2004 to 2016. Bruce Montague determined to expose the constitutional violations in the Canadian Firearms Act. After being charged, mounting a constitutional challenge and appealing to the Supreme Court of Canada, Montague's case was dismissed without reasons. With Bruce in jail, the Montagues then faced an another twist of injustice -- the confiscation of their home and property by the Ontario government. The Montagues fought the civil forfeiture of their home for years until, in the summer of 2016, the Canadian Constitution Foundation was instrumental in negotiating with the Ontario Civil Forfeiture department to drop the lien against the Montague home. The Canadian Constitution Foundation deserves our support as they continue to fight other cases of injustice around the country. YOU COULD BE NEXT! Canada is undergoing a quiet revolution and your fundamental rights and freedoms are at stake!

We're very sad to see one of the greatest pro-gun advocates in Canada pass away. David Tomlinson, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on Sept 18, 2007 after a brief illness.

I've known Dave for almost 20 years, and he has been a tireless leader in this fight against the draconian firearms laws that our government has been forcing upon us. Dave has been very dedicated in this fight for more reasonable gun laws for about 30 years, and was unmatched in his expertise in the laws we do have. I admire his dedication to this cause and pray that others take up his "sword" (gun??) and help to fill this void that we are now left with.

Dave Tomlinson with Katey Montague, March 2007
This is Katey and Dave acting goofy during our last court appearance in March. Katey and Dave quickly took a real liking to each other.

Dave and the NFA have been instrumental in helping many people in the court system, including our current Fiearms Act Charter Challenge. Dave was modest about his involvement with our case, and many people may not be aware of the long hours he spent with us in this constitutional challenge of the Firearms Act, as well as providing expert testimony, legal advice, and much needed financial support to help keep this case going. His absence will be painfully felt as we enter court again in just a few weeks. Our next court date is October 22, 2007.

Dave had a fun loving side as seen in the photo, and he cared deeply about the people whose lives he enriched.

Dave, you will be sorely missed.

Yours in Liberty,

Bruce.
