This Case Epilogue written February 1, 2017 is intended to provide context to this web site as it documents a Canadian constitutional challenge spanning from 2004 to 2016. Bruce Montague determined to expose the constitutional violations in the Canadian Firearms Act. After being charged, mounting a constitutional challenge and appealing to the Supreme Court of Canada, Montague's case was dismissed without reasons. With Bruce in jail, the Montagues then faced an another twist of injustice -- the confiscation of their home and property by the Ontario government. The Montagues fought the civil forfeiture of their home for years until, in the summer of 2016, the Canadian Constitution Foundation was instrumental in negotiating with the Ontario Civil Forfeiture department to drop the lien against the Montague home. The Canadian Constitution Foundation deserves our support as they continue to fight other cases of injustice around the country. YOU COULD BE NEXT! Canada is undergoing a quiet revolution and your fundamental rights and freedoms are at stake!

April 14, 2005 - Windsor, Ontario

Road Tour Reports Index

April 14, 2005 - by Wayne Fields

My family and I finally got to meet Bruce as he arrived in Windsor Thursday afternoon. Within the hour I had to rush him down to CBC T.V. Channel 9 studios for a interview. He had a 4 minute session with the local news anchor for airing on the 6:00pm news and I was extremely impressed with the way he handled himself.

A turnout of around 60 for the rally that evening was a little disappointing, considering we had the potential to draw four or five hundred, but overall the evening went well. Bruce's presentation was as equally impressive as his ability to handle himself in front of the media. CBC radio did some extensive interviews for airing the following day and I believe everyone there went home knowing their donation was going for a good cause.

It is only a matter of time before Bruce and Donna's efforts get the national attention that will put their fund raising efforts over the top and get the recognition they deserve. I only wish that all lawyers and law enforcement in this country could see Bruce's presentation. Maybe then they would understand the injustice of this hated and wasteful firearm legislation. I am extremely anxious to see the response to Bruce's wife Donna as she takes her story and message to the general public. A strong woman with the talent to get out her message is sure to strike fear in this incompetent Liberal government and be a tremendous asset to the firearm community.

Bruce and Donna are to be commended for their courageous and unselfish fight.

Special thanks to Professor Jim Thacker, University of Windsor, for all his help!
