This Case Epilogue written February 1, 2017 is intended to provide context to this web site as it documents a Canadian constitutional challenge spanning from 2004 to 2016. Bruce Montague determined to expose the constitutional violations in the Canadian Firearms Act. After being charged, mounting a constitutional challenge and appealing to the Supreme Court of Canada, Montague's case was dismissed without reasons. With Bruce in jail, the Montagues then faced an another twist of injustice -- the confiscation of their home and property by the Ontario government. The Montagues fought the civil forfeiture of their home for years until, in the summer of 2016, the Canadian Constitution Foundation was instrumental in negotiating with the Ontario Civil Forfeiture department to drop the lien against the Montague home. The Canadian Constitution Foundation deserves our support as they continue to fight other cases of injustice around the country. YOU COULD BE NEXT! Canada is undergoing a quiet revolution and your fundamental rights and freedoms are at stake!

Financial Summary

Sept 25, 2007

Dear Supporters,

You may have noticed a significant change in way we are now reporting our numbers and I'd like to explain it.

In the past the "total funds raised to date" included money or value we received from supporters by way of direct assistance. For instance we have a very good local supporter who buys all the air fare tickets for the lawyer's trips to court. This is a real $ donation but never actually enters or leaves our bank account but we felt it should be reflected in our fundraising charts. So far things look pretty simple, right? - - Wrong!

We now have many supporters contributing in many ways. Our local stationer store even waived our bills for having flyers and letterhead made up for us! But the real confusing part (as far as keeping our accounting reports) comes in when people donate their time and expertise to help out with things like our website fees and maintenance, promotional DVD videos, accounting services and travel time and expenses for our legal team.

We very much appreciate the direct "non-monetary" donations we have received and still continue to receive, but it's starting to make our finances a little more difficult to "account" for. To make things look a little clearer (we hope), we have decided to chart only the actual dollars we receive and list the direct contributions by supporters under a separate area. This area will show both the real money they spent combined with an estimate to reflect the value of their donated time and expertise.

Yours in Liberty,

Bruce.
