October 5, 2009
I'm currently in the Vancouver area for a few events and wanted to update you on these:
I attended Ed Scherbey's appeal hearing Oct. 1st for the re-instatement of his firearms licence. His licence was revoked by "operation of law" without his knowledge. Doug Christie did an admirable job arguing his case and the judge seemed attentive and open to many of the arguments. Let's hope he sees reason and re-instates Ed's licence.
I will be speaking at an information rally at the Chilliwack Fish & Game Club. The meeting starts at 7:00 pm. This club has been a great supporter in this fight from the beginning. It's been 4 years since I last spoke here and I look forward to be able to come back here, and give an update on our progress. The main purpose for this meeting is to update members and supporters on the status of our constitutional challenge to the Firearms Act. This is also a good opportunity for people to ask me directly about any questions or concerns they may have on this precedent setting case.
As you're probably aware our lawyer Doug Christie is a real warrior for rights and freedoms in Canada. He is hosting the annual George Orwell Free Speech Awards and Dinner this Saturday Oct. 10th. He has asked me to speak at this seminar along with many other notable people in Canada who are fighting for rights and freedoms in this country. This should prove to be a very interesting and informative seminar as we hear from various people about their experiences in this "fight for our rights".
If you are interested in attending the seminar and dinner please contact Keltie Zubko to reserve your seat. Cost for this event is $35.00. See below for directions.
Yours in Liberty,
